The second best way to practice meditation is to attend a group meditation. A group meditation practice is more powerful than a personal meditation practice, but the regularity of a personal meditation practice builds in more potential than a once in a while group meditation. The best results are when you do both, when you have you own personal practice for development, and when you also attend group meditations for boosts.
Personal Meditation Training has the purpose to give all the infomation necessary so that the student has a complete grasp of what he has to do to get where he wants to be. Beside the mental informational boost, the meditation training has the purpose the boost and enhance the meditative experience of the student. Let’s say the student is a begginer and his meditative power is 2 on a scale of 10. If he meditates with his teacher who has a high meditative power like an 8 or a 9, during the meditation he will be influenced by the energy of the teacher and his meditative power will increase. He will be able to focus better and his feelings within the meditation will grow. It is a similar proces of jumpstarting a weak battery of a car. You have a low charge car battery that is connected with a high charge car battery. An energy transfer occurs and the weak battery gets a boost of energy that can be self maintaned even after they are disconected.
In the same way, a meditation teacher with his meditative presence can enhance the ability to meditate and the experience of meditation of the student.
Personal Meditation Training also offers the posibility to create certain specific meditations tailored by the wishes of the student. In a group setting, you meditate on a standard concept. In a 1 on 1 setting, the student can choose something more specific. The custom meditative practice starts with the teacher and continues at home in the students personal private practice. As meditation consists in Focusing on One Thing, this provides infinite posibilities for meditation. You can meditate on anything you want and by having a regular devoted practice, you will become, create or attract the object of your meditation.
